Starr Ranch Growers: Dark Sweet and Rainier Cherries

As one of the premier grower/shippers of sweet Northwest cherries, Starr Ranch Growers’ moves more than 2.5 million cartons of the delicious fruit each year. Because our orchards are strategically located in this region, we’re able to ship early, starting in the Mattawa area of Washington state. We also extend our cherry season with later fruit coming out of Odell, OR.

Our dark sweet varieties, including the early Chelans, the exceptionally large Tietons and the ever-popular Bings, are juicy and bursting with incredible flavor. Of course they make the perfect out-of-hand, on-the-go snack food, but sweet cherries are also wonderful added to recipes. They also can and freeze well, giving you that homemade cherry pie in the middle of winter.

For a very special treat, our large, delicate and super-sweet orangish blush Rainiers, with their creamy yellow flesh, are simply out of this world.

The health benefits of cherries are the subject of numerous studies, and as additional evidence comes in about this wonderful treat from the Northwest, consumers are listening.

To keep pace with the increasing cherry demand, we’ve installed a third state-of-the-art UNITEC packing line.
